Jim Buche is Of Counsel to Hoffman & Forde. Mr. Buche obtained his Texas license in 2002 and his California license in 2005. He is also a licensed California real estate broker.
As a broker and former real estate agent, Mr. Buche understands first-hand the needs of his real estate clients. He advises clients in a wide array of real estate matters, including purchase and sale transactions, contracts, homeowner’s association matters, non-disclosure litigation, and other property disputes. With a background as a government attorney and administrative law judge pro tem, Mr. Buche also handles administrative matters, to include professional licensing and related issues.
Education and Experience
Mr. Buche is a former Army and Air Force brat, having attended and graduated high school in the DoDDs Germany school system. He graduated college with a B.A. from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and later earned his J.D. from Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock. During law school, Mr. Buche served as a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and for Federal Magistrate Judge Nancy M. Koenig. He first practiced law as an Assistant County Attorney in Texas, and in 2005, obtained California licensure and moved to San Diego. In San Diego, Mr. Buche has worked in private practice, and has served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Marcos, an administrative hearing officer, and as a Pro Tem Administrative Law Judge for the California Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH).
Additional Information
Mr. Buche is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association, La Jolla Real Estate Broker’s Association, and the Mission Bay Real Estate Association. Mr. Buche is also licensed in numerous federal courts in Texas, California, and in Washington DC.
Outside of the practice of law, Mr. Buche enjoys surfing, mountain biking, backpacking, and cooking. Mr. Buche is a proud graduate of the San Diego Culinary Institute.
