Schuyler Hoffman leads the residential real estate practice group at Hoffman & Forde, a real estate practice group located in San Diego. He represents clients throughout Southern California, focusing on legal matters involving residential real estate disputes, real estate non-disclosures, homeowners’ association conflicts, landlord/tenant disagreements, delays and liens, and fraud claims. Mr. Hoffman has developed cost-effective solutions to complex real estate disputes and has extensive experience in mediation and arbitration in the presence of various institutions.
Education and Experience
Mr. Hoffman received his B.A. degree in Political Science and Spanish from the Davidson College in 2002. While attending Davidson, he served as president of the NC Theta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Chairman of the Inter-Fraternity Council and captain of the rugby team. He also played football at Davidson and was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll. After graduation, he relocated to Washington, D.C. where he clerked for Congressman Duncan Hunter, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. Mr. Hoffman earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2007. During law school, he was named to the Dean’s List and interned for Robbins Umeda & Fink, a securities law firm.
Additional Information
Mr. Hoffman is fluent in Spanish and is a Sergeant in the San Diego County Honorary Deputy Sheriff’s Association. As a native San Diegan and an avid surfer, he remains active in the local community, having volunteered more than 500 hours to Protection & Advocacy, Inc., a non-profit, disability rights advocacy firm. Mr. Hoffman is licensed to practice law in California and is a member of the State Bar of California and the San Diego County Bar Association. In addition, he has conducted numerous seminars, educating attorneys, real estate brokers, and other professionals on developing areas of residential real estate law and community association law throughout California and Arizona.
